TANNED FACE LIGHTENS AS SUMMER PASSES BUT YELLOW TEETH DO NOT!

Do not be disheartened. Dentistry has a solution!! Teeth Whitening Treatment is a fast, safe and effective way to add some sparkle to your smile before a special occasion- a wedding, a job interview or a business presentation.
In essence your teeth are made up of two layers.
• Inner softer dentin layer
• A harder outer enamel layer

As we drink liquids like coffee, Tea, red wine or intake cigarette smoke, foreign material collects and forms a layer on top of the outer enamel layer. This is known as pellicle film. This pellicle layer can be scraped away to some degree and some of it can be brushed away. However it won’t all be removed and as it sits on the porous enamel it penetrates deeper into the tooth. Once this film gets deeper into the tooth, no amount of brushing can remove it.

Teeth whitening use bleaching agents usually in the form of hydrogen peroxide and carbamide peroxide. These bleaches break stains into smaller pieces, which make the colour less concentrated and your teeth brighter.
